Dodge is an American car make that was established in 1914 by John Francis Dodge
and Horace Elgin Dodge, his younger brother. The firm initially operated from Detroit,
Michigan, and was known for producing high-performance vehicles. They were also
pioneers of the automobile industry and played a key role in creating the modern car.
During its early years, Dodge concentrated on designing pocket-friendly cars for
ordinary US consumers. However, during the years of the Great Depression, the company changed its focus to manufacture trucks and military vehicles as a strategy to
survive economic depression.
In 1928, dodge introduced their iconic “dodge brothers” vehicle which became an
emblem of quality and performance to this brand. This car is famous for having very
powerful engine and stylish design that appeals to many drivers.
Dodge has diversified its model range over time through inclusion of diverse kinds of
automobiles starting from small vehicles up to big sport utility vehicles (SUVs). Also, it
has been associated with innovative technologies such as HEMI engine which came
into being in the 1950s thus becoming one of its trademarks.
